                                       Testing Requirements

The Praxis II content test(s) for each major must be taken during this semester, if not before.  Teacher candidates must take the test(s) early in the semester so that the official scores arrive in the Education Office prior to directed student teaching.  The Praxis II Principles of Learning and Teaching (PLT) may be taken during this semester or during the semester of directed student teaching.  Again, candidates must take the test early enough to allow time for the official scores to arrive prior to graduation.  A candidate may continue in the program and receive an education degree if all requirements are met, however, the candidate will not be a program completer or be eligible for teacher licensure until all state required tests are passed.

Receipt of Registration Booklet and List of Required Praxis II Content Tests

Acknowledgment Form

I have received a registration booklet for the Praxis tests and the list of the Praxis II content test(s) required for my major.  I understand that it is my responsibility to register so that test scores will be received prior to Directed Student Teaching for all of the required content tests.  I also understand that Directed Student Teaching will proceed only upon the receipt of the official scores of the content test(s).  Any questions that I have may be directed toward my advisor and/or the chair of the Education Department.  A student can initiate an appeal at any step of the WTEP process (admission, retention, student teacher program admission, dismissal, and exit).  Only in extreme circumstances related to the test(s) will the WTEP Appeals Committee seriously consider granting an appeal to student teach after a teacher candidate has not completed the required Praxis II content knowledge exam(s).
