Fingerprinting and Background Checks
Each teacher candidate must be fingerprinted and comply with background checks. A card for fingerprinting may be obtained in the Education Office and completed at a police station. Both the Arkansas State Police and the FBI will conduct background checks once this is completed and all forms and checks submitted to the specified parties.
Teacher candidates are encouraged to initiate this process as soon as possible to allow for the process to be completed in a timely manner. All licensed teachers in the state of Arkansas must go through this process in order to teach. The teacher candidate is held responsible for obtaining the needed materials and sending them off in a timely manner. The fingerprinting and background checks are not conducted through the Education office.
Teacher Licensing and Felony Conviction
