DIRECTED STUDENT TEACHING

HANDBOOK


    Requirements Prior to DST

- The student teacher is covered by personal liability insurance. Forms are available in the Education Office. Insurance must be renewed each academic year.

-Fingerprinting has been completed and all information submitted for a background check.

-The student teacher has completed PDST at WBC.

- The English Proficiency Exam has been passed. (If not, there will be one test date this semester.)

-The Praxis II content tests have been taken & official scores received by the Education Office. Passing scores are required for teacher licensure. Must be received by the last day of finals prior to spring graduation.

(Note: A WTEP program completer is a teacher candidate who has completed all education degree requirements and passed all Praxis II tests as required by the Arkansas Department of Education.)

-The student teacher has registered for the Praxis II PLT. Official scores must be received by the last day of finals prior to graduation. Passing scores are required for teacher licensure.
